Landed in ihram: what's the best plan?
Most pilgrims flying in enter ihram on the plane at the miqat and land in Jeddah already in ihram. The usual question is: hotel first, or straight to the Haram? These are the plans we usually arrange:
- Hotel close to the Haram and check-in open: we drop you at the hotel, you leave your bags, then walk to the Haram.
- Hotel close but check-in later: most hotels hold luggage at reception before check-in, so you drop it and go for Umrah.
- Hotel far from the Haram: we go to the hotel first, and you can book a ride from there to the nearest point to the Haram.
Drop-off near the Haram
Roads around Masjid al-Haram are traffic-regulated, and some are closed to private cars at prayer times and in peak seasons. Your driver drops you at your hotel or the nearest permitted point and sends you its location so you know your way back. Travelling with elderly people or a wheelchair? Tell us in advance so we choose the best drop-off point.
